Downloading 24/192 files>iMac>squeezebox

I have an iMac with OSX lion, gradually ripping my CDs lossless to iTunes but I still like to use CDs.

My question is I want to download some hires files from the likes of Linn, hiresaudio etc, is it best to use something like songbird for my hires downloads, then stream to my squeezebox then use the digital coax out on my squeezebox into my Rega DAC....will this give me the best quality?

Any help would be appreciated.
