Cannot connect my speakers anymore.

Hello. i have been using my Sampson Studiodock 3i speakers connected to my desktop for the past year with no problem. Recently my desktop (5 year old Acer on XP) was running even slower than normal so i decided to do a full virus scan (AVG free) and a defrag, now my speakers will not work. Upon attempting to reinstall them the XP wizard goes through the motions then finally states that it was unable to install the speakers because " a service installation section in this INF is invalid"

My computer knowledge is limited and i dont know what this means, can anyone help please?
