best airplay solution

apologies if this has been covered before...

i currently have all my music on my imac and stream it using airplay to my apple tv2 going in to my av receiver.  i love the simplicity of airplay but wonder if anyone has thoughts on how to enhance my experience here.  i have read countless articles on the merits of incorporating a dedicated DAC to my setup, though am warey of linking this up to the apple tv given the reduced quality that it can process, somewhat nulifying the DAC.

as such, does anyone have any tips here? is there a strong airplay enabled streamer (pioneer n-50?) or a neater/better prospect in a standalone streamer and dedicated dac?

really keen to hear thoughts here, and sorry once again if this is going over old ground!
