Apple TV - BEWARE!!! - It's only AirTunes RECEIVER!
I can't believe it.. so much research.. so much reading and I got it wrong (and so many other people) and the worst part is that I found it only after I got it!
So what's the problem?
AppleTV can't stream music to AirPort Express speakers.. it's receiver only.. this sucks big way.. I can't believe they did it like that.. If I knew that I would have gone for Apple Mini..
I connected my IPhone to my ITunes on my laptop.. I have nice option to choose which speaker to stream my music to (AppleTV, AirportExpress, Laptop).. and nothing like that when I connect my IPhone to AppleTV..
I'm really really dissapointed.. I hope there will be a software update from Apple to add this feature.. or maybe I find a way to hack OSX on AppleTV to allow this..
If anyone knows about any way how to do it.. please help..
AppleTV has build in harddrive + OSX + some kind of ITunes software so I can listen to the music from AppleTV without my PC being switched on which is good. I can control this from IPhone via WiFi and that's really cool!
The problem is that AppleTV can't stream to other AirPort Express devices as currently it's only AirTunes receiver whereas when you play the music from ITunes on PC/Mac you can stream it to multiple AirTunes receivers (AirPort Express/AppleTV).
I'm hoping that there will be AppleTV update soon which will add this feature because that would mean that AppleTV can be a heart of your system at home and no PC/Mac required - and this is what i wanted to achieve.. I don't want to have PC running when listening to music.. ![]()
Ahhh, i see...

I'm not sure I understand... I thought Apple TV was a streaming device in itself. So you must have a computer with iTunes to be streaming to the Apple TV device in the first place. And if that's the case, you simply stream from said computer's iTunes Library to your Airport Express in another room.
Am I wrong, or did I misunderstand what you require?
