Anyone here tried Mountain Lion yet?

I've recently installed it onto my household's three Macs, one of which is a 2011 Mini used as a media centre, mostly for playing ripped CDs via iTunes + Bit Perfect. No problems on any Mac so far except with CCleaner, which initially complained it was incompatible. A quick update via the App Store cured that instantly.

It will be interesting to see if the updated OS cures the one and only issue I had from the HiFi perspective. On my 'media centre' Mac Mini, now and again Spotify would object to playing sound via my HRT Streamer II+, in so far as the sound became distored and crackly. Flicking the default Output device to Internal then back to HRT Streamer always cured it for a while, til it decided it was throwing a strop again.

Yep, AirPlay mirroring from laptop to ATV2 is ace.  May actually upgrade to ATV3 to get 1080p now.

Have installed it on the Macbook but not upgraded the Mini as yet (just making sure I don't get any issues before I go to both). No problems so far - like the Power Nap feature, and of course Notifications just a little sweep of the trackpad away. Safari upgrade seems nicer as well. Haven't really dug deeper than that so far.

Funny you should mention that: the lack of Airplay Mirroring on pre-2011 Macs seems to be a major bone of contention for some. Sadly that's just called 'progress'. There's even a load of people writing App Store reviews awarding one star and demanding their money back. First they need to read the 'small print' which clearly states AirPlay Mirroring won't work on pre-2011 Macs, and they need to learn the meaning of 'put it in perspective': for goodness sake the whole OS upgrade only cost £12.99!

Apparently there is an issue with the USB driver when using mountain lion with an m-dac (or any USB audio device apparently), It will cause popping and drop outs. If you have a problem with your m-dac there is an updated firmware which can be downloaded from here.

Interesting...no additional problems to report here with a HRT Music Streamer II+ (also a USB DAC)

Yes - upgraded from Lion - can't really tell too much substantive difference, although have noticed some difference in form.  Airplay still works which is always great, not fussed about mirroring.

Seems to boot faster too.  Not night-and-day differences, but it's there. From button-press to working desktop in 41 seconds. No SSD either.

Sorry if this is hijacking the thread, but noticed that MajorFubar is using BitPerfect, something I am considering for my Mac-based music. Are you happy with it? Does it only affect the sound at the ripping stage (I already have 1.5TB ripped and don't fancy doing it all again) or are there advantages to playback?  I know it is only a £7 download, but if it is not much cop, I would sooner have two pints of Gem.

It only affects the sound on playback. Imo it was worth the money, and is probably the best £7 upgrade I've ever made.  To get a full gamut of responses you're probably better starting a thread specifically about it.

Installed to MAC desktop and macbook pro, no dramas whatsoever, thank god that SONOS was not affected this time after the initial Lion debacle. Some really useful features, worth the money for sure.

I've installed it on a 2008 iMac.  It hasn't introduced any problems with the Leema Elements DAC connected via USB.  Feels a bit quicker than Lion.

I agree with that.  I've put it on the 2010 Mac Mini my kids use and suddenly the computer feels as fast as it did with its native Snow Leopard. Lion could run a bit slow in its Core 2 Duo chips.
