advice on PC speakers with a Digital Input

Hello.  Currently i'm using the 3.5mm line out on my PC soundcard and running to an Altec Lansing FX4021 set of speakers.  They've been ok for the last 18months or so but i've recently realised my soundcard also has a digital out also.  I'm keen to take advantage of this and am keen to improve the speaker set up as the PC is rapidly becoming the thing we turn to first for music in favour of the Micro system we have in the same room (and have to insert CD's into.)

Does anyone have any advice on a decent set of PC speakers that utilise the digital in?

Can spend up to £300 on a new solution.
