It's common wisdom on here (amongst your fellow ADM9 users) that your system will already be better than most £5k - £10k conventional/passive/seperates systems.

With £2K of upgrade funds (and whatever you can sell your ADM9s for), you are not far from being able to afford ADM40s.

I am sure this will be the suggested course of action. (Either that or add the AVI sub to your present setup.)

A Cyrus 8 DAC plus speakers will sound quite different to you current speakers, it's up to you which you prefer.  I made the move to ADM9.1s a couple of years ago and don't regret it at all.  AVI have updated the 9s recently with new drivers and crossover, I haven't heard them but user feedback has all been positive, particularly in the bass.

If you want to stick with AVI, your main options are:

1. Sell the current ADMs and get new ADM9.1T RS

2. Add the AVI sub to the current system

3. Sell them and buy ADM40s.  These are their new floorstanders and cost around £3k.

See the AVI site or my signature for pictures.

Hope that helps?

P.s. You'd probably get more responses (maybe too many!) if you post your question in the hifi section.
