Hi all,

mind need to remove the tunes I have stored on my wife's laptop to free up space, if its possible I'd like to transfer to a 1TB NAS, however if this happened would the tacks, album artist/cover be catorgorised in an appropriate order so when this is connected to my Yamaha RX-V2065 via USB I can scroll through to what to play rather than them going on in a random order!!!

So which NAS would be best and is there a program or something out there for this??

many thanks

darrell

if you move your files to a NAS as long as everything is copied AND the tagging on the files is correct they should be fine, (But you never advised what format tracks are encoded in)

hi, some are mp3's and others are brought from iTunes, I guess the cd's I have ripped I can do again in Flac for decent quality, I have transferred 16gb onto a USB stick and popped that into my avr and although I have track name/artist it is not in any order, I end up with albums that are not in order.

Would this be resolved on a dedicated NAS rather than a USB stick?

thanks guys

I use one of these and going through the settings there is a setting to enbale everything to work beautifuly with the itunes library. I have found that itunes can be a little bit funny if you try to tell it to look somewhere it doesnt normally for its files.

And another post with a link to the same retailer, distinctly smelly now!

Well Simply Sound and Vision do sell Sonos (and as I found out this weekend, are just round the corner from my house Shock)...

You are right and I am really sorry about how that has come over in two of my posts. These guys are local to where I live and have been very helpful in the past and continue to be.

I don’t want to cause embarrasment to myself, them or any forum members, if someone can edit my posts or tell me how I would be grateful.
