I'm going to bury my SBT !!!

I love my digital delivery in my system!

SBT > Rega DAC, but lately the SBT is getting sloooooower and slooooooower, due to my constant growing digital library, it's now on 700GB of FLAC files.

Two weeks ago i've connected my Synology NAS to Rega DAC through is USB input, and is playing like that ever since! The sound quality is the same, if not better, faster accessing the library and no drop outs or buffurig isseus.

Ok, my 24/96 and 24/192 are now beeing played as 16/44, i can't ear no difference, and there is no anoing click when i change 24/96 to 16/44. And i can always buy a USB/coax converter and have my Hi-Res again.

Another set back is the local radios, the DS app do have radio but no local ones.

And there will be less 3 cables...

Which function did your SBT slow down on? I'm on ca. 170GB of files and mine runs great. I'd assume as long as it's indexes are maintained it should be fine... or maybe you ran out of RAM on the diskstation? Have tried the USB interface but lack of gapless playback is a deal breaker for me.

Yup they go for quite a bit on ebay, wish I'd bought a couple more when I got mine in an end of line sale, I suspect my next SB player will be raspberry pi based. But before you bury yours please send it myy way Wink

It's not the SBT, it's the software on the NAS. Try throwing some more RAM into it if it's upgradeable.

RE: Got it!

As i moved the SBT to my bed room I had to connect it wireless to the server, and gess what...?

every thing back to normal, no more break downs and no freezes. The problem is from the wifi tower from my internet suplier, via ethernet cable.
