Hi all I have not been on for a while, but could you help? Would I see and hear a big difference if I upgrade from my Sony BDP S370 to the panasonic. Thanks

Probably not.

With Bluray you would need instruments to tell the difference.

Not strictly true.

I have the Sony 370 now relegated to the bedroom due to the purchase of the Panasonic 500.

The Panasonic picture / colours / sound is far superior. And motion handling is nigh on perfect compared to the 370, which I didnt think handled fast scenes particularly well. Harry Potter films when playing Quidich was a particular good example of this.

I agree Blu Ray playback is very similar whatever the player but its the finer details that win it over the 370 for me. Detail is excellent on the 500.

The remote swipe pad is awful though (although some people get it - I dont) and the menu system on the Sony is far slicker.

Oh, and dont forget your 370 plays SACD's whereas the Panasonic doesn't.

Hope this is a bit more helpful.
