two hdmi's
I have a strange problem I live in Spain & im on solar electric wich is good however it means I cant always use my 3d hd amp pioneer vsx 920 k I have my blue ray player connected usual way hdmi in wich means I sometimes have to unplug the hdmi and put it straight direct into the tv if I bought a Panasonic dmp-bdt310 this should solve this problem assuming both hdmi's are both audio enabled yes so I can swich between the two when I cant use my amp any reply to this will be greatly received cheers.
And there are ones that do not any power as well.
Hi Bigboss
I thought that i'd read somewhere that splitters wouldn't work, but came across this while looking for something else. The reason i ask is i think that i have the same problem as the op.I recently bought the pana 42gt30,not because it's capable of 3d,but included was a copy of Avatar & i had to do what the op is doing.
My amp isn't 3D so i connected the pana 210 player to the tv & got sound from the TV by optical cable to the amp. Before i read this posting this is what i found.

Is this what you mean,it appears to plug into the player & the two outs take hdmi to the TV & hdmi to the amp for sound, which would seem to solve the problem.Any idea how the pic & sound quality might be affected.
I appreciate in my case that i would still have to connect to the tv but i'm thinking that the hdmi to the amp would give the HD sound.
I tried using an HDMI splitter for 3D to the TV and sound to an HDMI 1.3 amp. It doesn't work as the amp forces the signal to default to only the formats that it can deal with. I spoke to a guy at the Media Factory today and he reckons there isn't anything out there (yet) that separates the audio signal from the video signal to allow an amp to be tricked into delivering the sound whilst maintaining the 3D.
I use a Pansonic BDT-310 for my 3D Blu-ray needs.

Your case is different than the OP's. The OP doesn't want to split audio from video, only wants to either use the amplifier or not. An HDMI splitter will work in this case.
Thanks for the replies,VoodooDoctor & Bigboss.
If i get really interested in 3D i'll go for the pana 310.
Cheers.

Why don't you use an HDMI splitter? It's a far cheaper option.
