regional coding

I have the Panasonic DMP-BDT310 and am thinking of connecting it to the internet to update it but this may cause the loss of universal region coding on the panny would i be right

Thanks for any advice

Updating your player shouldn't affect the region status of your player. I've unlocked many Panasonic BD players to multi-region for DVD and they have not reverted to region 2 after firmware updates via the netCool

Hi guys, I too have a 310 and would love to know how to unlock it as many of my DVD's are Region 1. 

Is it possible to make the BluRay region free too? When I bought it I was under the impression that it was, but after I updated it via ethernet to a new Firmware spec that I killed the possibility. 

Appreciate your help.

As far as I know, it can't be region unlocked for bluray, but can be unlocked for DVD using codes entered with a universal remote. Not sure if its ok to post a link for a how to here, but its easy enough to find via google.
