I have a Philips BDP3100 which is fantastic with blu-ray but very poor with dvd, since I have loads of dvd's and still buy quite a few I am looking for a new player that will keep my dvd's looking good, I am thinking Panasonic or Pioneer but am open to advice, not interested in extra's just a good picture / sound. Around £200 - £300, don't mind looking on Ebay for older models. Thanks.

Pioneer BDP 320 or 51/52 - I have the 320 plugged into my Pioneer Plasma and DVD upscaling is brilliant.

I've had a few Blu ray players in my time, but by far the the best at upscaling DvDs was the Denon BT2500, you can still pick these up for around £300, just make sure you have the shelf space as it's a beast . Oh and you need an AVR that can decode HD sound tracks as it's only a transport.
