Bought this player last week, mostly good, great picture, but lip synching problems are noticeable on some DVD segments. I'm using it with a Sony KDL-32CX523 TV. Has anyone had a similar issue and are there any well known fixes that can be implemented - e.g. is it a settings thing? Doesn't happen throughout a disc either; I bought the new Rush blu-ray for their Time Machine tour and the pre-concert film is out of sync, the concert itself is fine however. Weird.

Or, in other words, help!!

If anyone's got any suggestions, ideally, related to the problem above, feel free to shout up....!

EDIT: Ignore, have found the same problems elsewhere.  Think I'll be returning the Panny and exchanging for a Sony.

Hi,

I thought you had a sony bdp370. Is the pana. bdt-110 better picture or sound than the sony 370.

Cheers

Steve.

Hi Steve,

Thanks to a recent marriage split, I left the old TV and Blu Ray player for the kids.  As for any differences, they're both good £120 blu-ray players.  I'd recommend either, but for the lyp sync issues in the Panasonic the nod goes to the Sony.  In terms of sound quality differences, I haven't been looking for any, mostly as there's not going to be much to differ between the two.  Like I say, they're both good budget Blu-Ray players and they'll do the basics well.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that. Thanks for the update of the comparison of the two units. My sony s370 on a couple of music dvds the sound goes softer and louder on the various tracks which is a bit disappointing. It didnt on my older pioneer dvd player.

All the best with your panasonic.

Cheers

Steve.

Quick update on this problem from the other day, it seems that firmware update 1.70 addressed the lip sync issues.  Just tried the aforementioned Rush disc and the pre-concert film ("Don't Be Rash"!) runs perfectly now.  This player's finally worth the hype.

No difference in my view following Steve's earlier query; the only advantage in choosing another manufacturer for my Blu-Ray player is the internet features on the Panasonic which aren't offered by the Sony TV.  That said, having seen them, SOny have a better web service IMO, but really both are pretty similar in what they're offering.
