hey guys need some help...

Currently havd an ''old ''onkyo 875 connected to a panasonic projector via hdmi out and various inputs connected to hdmi in 1-4,such as existing ps3.

what would be the most appropriate way of connecting a new blu ray player? would one with twin hdmi outs work in this set up?

Just to be clear. Is this to get 3D?

no big boss, just good old fashioned 2d.

Although i just read the previous post about only slight differences and wonder if i really need to upgrade?

However i do fancy SACD in 5.1 purely as i have a few sacds and never been able to listen to them. Pink floyds dark side and wish you were here.

I am puzzled. Why do you need a blu ray player with twin HDMI outputs? puzzled

You can buy any standard blu ray player & connect it to the Onkyo via HDMI.

just plug it in as normal. the only thing is you will not get 3D it will only pass 2D.

That's why I asked if you need 3D or not. As nads said, you need twin HDMI outputs ONLY for 3D. Otherwise, any blu ray player can be connected to your Onkyo for 2D.

big boss,i have a 100inch projection screen from my panasonic ptae4000. I have been noticed that dvds dont look so great(upscaled via the onkyo amp). Blu rays look great tho.

i am looking for an improvement from the ps3,but wonder if the additional out lay will indeed give me better picture and importantly sound quality.

However as i mentioned am wanting SACD as i have a number of these but have never heard them in 5.1.
