I'm trying to get digital sound from my Blu-ray player/recorder, using a digital co-ax cable, to my Uniti. However, I'm unable to achieve this. I've got analogue sound ok, but no digital sound. My current settings on the player menus are:

PCM down conversion = On

Dolby D/D+/True HD = Bitstream

DTS/DTS HD = Bitstream

MPEG = Bitstream

HE-AAC = Bitstream (Dolby D)

BD-Video Sec. Audio = On

Dynamic Range Compression = Off

Downmix = Stereo

Bilingual  = M1.

All I want is to be able to listen to (hopefully) better sound from either DVDs or live/recorded tv, from my main hifi. Is this achievable, please, or is it restricted to when I play Blu-ray audio, or HD tv suitably encoded, please?

Analogue sound is good, but I'm looking for the extra detail of digital. Looking at the manual all I need to do is connect recorder and amp, and bingo! If only.

I've tried Panasonic UK a couple of times via e-mail, but got no response, so I'm turning to the knowledgeable community here.

Help, please.

Geoff.
