BluRay wont play on Samsung BD-D5500

Despite upgrading to the latest firmware, my new Samsung BD-D5500 3D BluRay player will not play 20th Century Fox films such as X-Men,Avatar,Australia,Day after Tomorrow to name but a few. These films played OK on my previous player, a Panasonic, so the discs are OK. Other films play on the Samsung so I can only assume it is a firmware problem. I have tried Samsung support without any success, so apart from buying another player does anyone have a solution?

Take it back to the supplier and demand a refund or different model as it is clearly not fit for purpose. If it cannot play Avatar, one of the most popular Blu-rays (whatever you may think of it) , then it is not working properly.
