Audio settings on a Panasonic 220

Help!

I can't get any audio from my DAC, the BDP is connected via toslink. I had a similar problem with my old Sony, but this was cured with the audio settings set to 2 ch stereo. I can't find anything obvious in the player menus to set this. Am watching the Blu ray version of Top Gun, and wanted to hear thoise F14s shake the walls, but nowt! The in film menu options don't work. Bizarrely, there was some sound coming through the DAC on the film main menu page, but silence once I pressed play!

EDIT - I think I know how to configure it, but it seems like you have to choose either HDMI or digital audio out, it doesn't output to both.
