Saw these pop up on Yamaha's UK website.

They now include AirPlay and "Anti-Resonance Technology".

Any news when are they coming?

RE: Yamaha's new Aventage range of receivers

They launched them in the US in June and I just brought the new Aventage RX-A 1010 and asked about the new one but was told they had no clue as to when the newer model will be available in UK. I bit the bullet to wait could be weeks or months and not that bothered about Airplay as prefer a hard wired ethernet to wireless and use other devices anyway. In the US the newer model was $100 more I think but in the UK that will be more like £100 I am guessing?

Cheers Rick!  Smile

I'm running short of inputs on my Yamaha (as I want a media streamer) & am casually looking at upcoming receivers. AirPlay support does interest me, but is it only for audio, or video as well?

A lot of people don't realise that with the app for the current Aventage receivers supports music browsing & playback directly from the iOS / Android device which was a nice feature. Was kind of surpirsed they were sans-Airplay at the time they were released though. Will be interesting to find out what else is new.

I'm looking forward to check out the new A1020 en A2020. Airplay will be nice if you have itunes match, unfortunately that didnt work on the previous range, although if you have a NAS with your music it's no big deal really.

As far as I know airplay is still sound only, it appears apple prefers to boost its ATV sales more before they allow recievers to take over video airplay.

I'm not sure what the zone B hdmi will offer exactly, could be an interesting feature.

In Holland the new Aventage recievers are expected soon, the 820 is already shipped and I understood the new 1020 and 2020 are due in september. I assume it'll be the same in the UK. From what i understood the prices should be roughly €40~50 more compared to the previous models prices.

RE: Yamaha's new Aventage range of receivers

Hi GSB - my experience was that sound was definitely improved when hard wired from nas (Vortexbox Appliance) to my Yamaha RX V3067 (via network router) versus streaming from my ipad using the Yamaha App. Though the source quality is different - FLAC on nas versus mp3 on the ipad. Hope that helps - give it a try!

I happened to speak to Yamaha yesterday. They won't be in the shops for at least another month.

You can read a review of the Yamaha RX-A820 here. The Yamaha costs £849 and will be available in August.
