Yamaha V673 vs Onkyo TX-SR608? Are modern better with Sound or just has more capabilities??

I currently have Onkyo TX-SR608 and was thinking of upgrading to Yamaha V673. After chatting on various AV forums I'm beginning to believe this would be just a 'sideways' move. 

I have no interest in streaming, wifi or 4 2K which II seem to be paying for with modern amps therefore my purchase would be purley based on sound quality only. I use my amp for movies only. I understand the Yamaha is great with music and while this is great, I'm not sure how it will compare to the movie bass and depth of the Onkyo. 

This leaves me with the question is it worth upgrading to the Yamaha or should I wait until I can afford something better?
