Yamaha RX-V3067: "Monitor Check" doesn't seem to work?!

My RX-V3067 does not report all resolutions that my DLP projector supports to the connected HDMI-sources.

More specifically, the 3067 omits to tell a connected DVB-T2 receiver that 576i is a valid resolution to output. So instead, I get 576i->1080i conversion done in the STB. I've tried to set "Monitor Check" to "Skip" in the advanced menu, but to no help. The receiver stills seems to send a limited EDID table to the STB.

I've got FW rev 3.20 and the 3067 is set to output 720p.

Anyone else experienced this or other problems related to "Monitor Check"?

If Rick @ Musicraft is reading;

By reading others threads, I get the impression you might have a good connection at Yamaha. Any possibility you could highlight this problem for them?

Thanks!

Hi M_N

Can you try the following please -

Please set your RX-V3067 to HDMI stand by pass through mode (as shown on page 107 of the instruction manul). How does the STB output (ie. what video resolutions are being shown as output and how does it upscale or output native 576).

All the best

Rick @ Musicraft

Hi Rick!

Will test what you suggested tonight.

I thought the 3067 would send an EDID table containing all possible resolutions that the 3067 itself supports on it's HDMI inputs when "Monitor Check" is set to skip, irregardable of what display device is connected.

Thanks.

Hi Rick

Tested what you suggested and now the system behaves different! Indeed the STB now finds 576 a valid resolution and that's what now is output.

But, deinterlacing/scaling of 576 is not good at all in my projector. I wish Yamaha could update the 3067 to send out an EDID tabel to connected sources including all resolutions supported by it's (the 3067's) inputs when "Monitor check" is set to skip...

Simply skipping whatever comes in the EDID table from the display...

Bump to ask if anyone ever had any success with "Monitor Check" = skip on Yamaha's?
