Yamaha Aventage A810 - BX5's - bi-amping?
English

Hi All

I have noticed in the set up menu's on the Yamaha Aventage that i can have bi amp setting for the front speakers.  I have monitor audio BX5 floor standers & would like to know if it would benefit in the realistic world or just an expense of extra chord carnival silverscreen wire & i would not really notice a difference?

Any info/advice appreciated.

Thanks Smile

Hi tj27

Yes, use the RX-A810 to bi amp the BX5's as there will be a worthwhile improvement in performance  Smile

Thaks Rick

I presume it would be mainly noticable if i played audio in pure direct mode? or would i beneift from the surround side of things as well?

As for wire - should i just get another two runs of c/c silverscreen or get a bi-wire for each side?

Hi tj27

Your welcome.

You'll gain an improvement in performance with or without pure direct mode engaged and with music or movie soundtracks Smile As for speaker cables another run will do.

Btw, if you're also happy to consider a fresh set of speaker cables then i'll highly recommend standard 500 strand OFC type. These speaker cables cost very little money and fwiw i use these with RX-A810/BX5's and also use/have used these cables with Yamaha's DSP-Z11, Chord Electronics DSP8000/SPM3005, Monitor Audio Platinum PL300AV, etc. I've found the grip that these standard speaker cables enable amplifiers to exert over speakers (particularly for their cost) is almost uncanny. Anyway something to also bear in mind.

i have a 1065 with brx5 bi wired using chord carnival they sound amazing with QED micro feeding some CWT160 ceiling speakers with the chord cable at £6 a metre and 500 strand at half the price depends on your budget but i will upgrade the surround speakers to chord at some point but i need 15 mtrs and would personally upgrade my front centre speaker instead
