Yamaha amp just switched off
Hi,
My yamaha amp just switched its self off. I don't know if is due to the amps protection ,but he amp was on for almost 10 hours .
Should I be concerned as its only two months old.
Thanks
Hi,
It was -18 and just the front left and right ,was watching a two channel DVD.
Thanks
Hi near dark
Which Yamaha amp is it? I had a problem a while ago with my RX-V667 which was resolved by doing a factory reset and then installing the latest firmware. There's a series of 'button press' steps to do this; I can't remember them off-hand but I have a note of them (somewhere).
In my case, the amp appeared to switch on but no input could be selected, so it was in effect in a standby mode. I got great help from the Yamaha team - there's a link on their website. But if it's only 2 months old and you bought it from a dealer, the first recourse should be to contact them.
Hi,
Its a Yamaha rx-v371,I bought it from richer sounds,I phoned them and they said it was probably due to the time it was on,so to prevent damage.
They said to keep an eye on it and see if it happens again.
Thanks
So were the front two speakers running full range from a Dolby Digital or DTS signal? Or even worse, full range from a master Audio/True HD signal?
He says a 2 channel DVD in his post David

What volume was it on when it switched off? And which speakers are you using?
