New Cables to try / consider with your PL's brand new in fact
Graham Slee Spatial Speaker Cables - I have them on demo at the moment with GX100's and they are stunningly good.
I am very lucky to be the first UK consumer to demo them - the company system and service is outstanding
I am currently upgrading electronics but will be posting more on them at a later date once I had the chance to properly test them with my new kit.
However my inital report - all the pazazz of a lively silver plated cable - however no harshness just clarity - and really enjoyable to listen to, musical - more at a later date

sorry to resurect an old thread, I hope you can help me on something a little off topic.
I'm in a position now where I'm looking at houses, and one of my concerns/considerations, is getting the most out of the AV system.
My question is how bigger room should I be looking for? My thoughs are something say 4m by 6m would be ideal?
The equiptment is;
Rears; Apex A10's
Or should I be looking for somewhere with a larger room?
I have a room of that sort of size and it'll be fine. I've just installed PL200s as well.
MA PL200s, PL350C, PLW-15, PL100s, Apex, Radius, R45HDs
Marantz AV8801 -> Leema Acoustics Pyxis, Hydra II (x2) & I, Emotiva UPA-700
JRiver 19 Leema Acoustics Elements DAC Oppo BDP-103EU (multiregion) PS3 X360 Wii Virgin Tivo
If you can go 5m x 7m, so much the better.

Hey, sorry to resurect an old thread,
I'm still running the same gear in my house, but I'm in the process of buying a detached house which im going to have a dedicated room.
the room will be 4270 x 5180,
Which is about as big as I could find within my budget.
Do you think the room will be big enough? Should i get some room correction with it being not the perfect rectangular shape?
I have bought a epson tw-9000 and some nice seating to go in it, going to put a fixed screen in, not sure about the size yet, im thinking about 100"?
As you can imagine I'm quite keen to get in and start tinkering

Hi Tom, good to hear from you.
I "think" the room is just about big enough, but you may have to pay attention to room acoustics ie. Carpet and soft furnishings should help. If the speakers are in the corners you may need bass traps. Hopefully those with Platinum Range will comment.
If your speakers are on a suspended wooden floor you will probably need to look at isolating them from it (Granite / Auralex Gramma).
Anyway, it's only when you get all set up that you will get an idea. If necessary, you can get your room measured (acoustically).
I can't help with screens, as I know very little about them.
Hey, thanks, that’s what I thought,
I might email GIK acoustics once im in as i have heard their name thrown around a lot and see what they would recommend in terms of acoustic treatment and get something sorted out
Also try Advanced Acoustics as well.
Thanks for the tip will drop them an email once I'm in
I have started a thread on AV forums hoping to carry on getting some great advise from the AV community
I will keep an eye "there", and if I can help, will respond "here."........I have no intention of joining another forum, as being a member of one is more than enough for me.
No problem, I will still be on here, I think I have been a member of both forums a long time, I'm more of a lurker though really.
