Hello, when I listen to my music through my Marantz SR7005 with a heavy beat (enjoy the silence) and volume is quite high (+2db) there is a very loud pop or bang just before the music plays and then plans normal. Any ideas what causes it?

What are you playing the music on, and how is it connected to the Marantz? I suspect it's a muting relay designed to avoid all kinds of digital hash coming through your speakers – a switch which only closes to let audio through when the receiver's DACs are locked onto a digital source, or when the DAC in the source is locked on (if it's a source connected to the receiver using analogue).

Thank you for the reply. The music in on a AVA RS3 music server connected to the Marantz by cat5 cable. It only happens if the music has a big beat beginning???

May just be the beginning of the file I guess, but not sure why the content of the file should affect the presence or otherwise of the pop, unless it's something to do with the overall level of the audio on the file.

I just had a thought... Maybe the "POP" is coming from my PV1d?
