I have a set of Bang Olufsen speakers - 6002 front, 4000 back and beolab 11 subwoofer

I need help with av receiver . What should i take to get those speakers work good with music and cinema ( 70:30 ) and house music as a genre that i listen to the most.

You haven't mentioned budget, but you might like to check out Arcam AVR 600 or AVR 400....good where music is concerned, especially the former.

There have been a series of problems with the 600, but with the 3D board, all seems much better.

Given that you have a complete set of active speakers, might be worth considering an AV preamp/processor rather than a receiver, which will have amplifier channels you won't be using. Maybe something like the Audiolab 8200AP?

Apologies....didn't realize the speakers were active, so AE's suggestion makes better sense.

Thanks for answer

The budget is about 2000$

If we talk about processors what You think about Marantz AV7005?

So i shouldn't look at av receivers at all or it will works ok with pre outs ?

Marantz 7005 would be suitable yes, and yes, your speakers would work fine with with an AV receiver with preouts, but I am confident you'll get better sound if you buy a product where all the design and component budget is spent getting the best possible outputs at the preouts, rather than on power amplification sections you won't be using.

Don't think it's a good idea to mix passive speakers with actives.

Agreed: I'd look for a suitable B&O speaker solution to use as a centre, such as one or two Beolab 4000s mounted horizontally, or maybe even run the system in 'phantom centre' mode.

Hi,

I currently have a full b&o speaker setup myself and i have them hooked up via a yamaha rxv3067 amp via preouts, they sound awesome, the speaker sets you have to be honest are not going to set the world alight but brilliant speakers non the less, how long have you had these speakers? you should have really and truely gone for beolab 8000 at the front, either the beolab 6000 or the 4000 for the rear and the beolab 2 as a sub, that is a stunning setup, thats what i have, you can pick them up cheap secondhand and they last you years, as mine has served me for 18 years. in order to connect the b&o speakers to the amp you will need a dedicated line lead which can be bought from specialist dealers.

Andrew have you guys ever reviewed the beolab 8000 speakers? i am sure you guys did but cannot find it.
