Time for an AV Receiver or my sound bar will be enough ?

Does the KEF HTF8003 sound bar requires an AV Receiver? and if it needed, which ones will be good? I also have my DVD player, Cable TV box .

My understanding is this is an unpowered speaker that runs from the left, center and right channels of an AV receiver. 

As for buying a receiver, how much have you got to spend as this will have a massive impact on what's recommended.  Also have you bought the KEF already?  If not you would be wise to consider buying a powered soundbar/subwoofer combination as the KEF by itself is not (in my eyes) a particularly good idea.
