RE: Sub £80 used A/V receiver to match Mission M7S

Hi, I'm looking to replace the receiver in my dad's current set up. He has an old Sony DVD/Receiver, which is pre-HDMI and obviously pre BluRay. He has a set of Mission M7S 5.1 speakers, which will be staying (regardless of your views he isn't going to budge with them!) Smile

So, The room is only small aroune=r 12ft x 12ft. Only real requirements re HDMI outs, and be easy to use and set up (100's of different sound-modes/processing options is a negative.)

Will only be used at low-medium volume for Movies/Sky

Thanks, I value your opinions

Should also say it will be hooked up to a Sony Blu-Ray player

Hey, I got a Sony SR-DA1200ES two weeks ago for £70 from E-Bay. I started thread about it, singing it's praises, if you want to read it. I would say that it's perfect for your old man as he's a Sony user already and obviously likes how they sound with his speakers. It has the HDMI inputs that he's after. You absolutely won't get a better second hand amp for under a hundred quid.

Oh, absolutely. Set up is automatic. You plug in a supplied microphone and it sets up the sound for you. All your dad will have to do is connect up his dvd player, tele and speakers. A doddle.
