Speakers for Onkyo NR709?
Sun, Oct 9 2011, 11:06AM
short and simple question, replacing my Bose LS28 of 9 years with separates,
looking at the Onkyo NR709 and KEF T205 (want flat or small speakers, similar to current Bose setup), are these a good match?
Any ideas of a better match?
cheers

You are welcome avnutter I hope you get as much pleasure from your movies as I do. By the way I used you use KEF floorstanders all round but my son now enjoys them with my old NAD receiver. If you audition at a dealer take some movies you are familiar with and a cd for music comparison.
Best wishes
Chris

Welcome to to the forum avnutter. Quite a few of the members with Onkyos use B&W speakers. I have an Onkyo 905 and have B&W 685 Theatre which is brilliant. B&W also sell satelite speakers M1s with different subwoofers see the reviews. Give them an audition when listening to the Kefs. Remember that Onkyo 709 is a very capable receiver and I am sure you will enjoy your movies immensely.
Best Wishes
Chris
