I want to replace my Denon AVR-1707 with a something with hard wired AirPlay.  It needs to be as good as the outgoing, but doesn't need to be any better.  Recommendations please.

What's your budget? Which speakers have you got? What do you mean by "hard wired AirPlay"?

Budget is set by quality must be as good as previous, but doesn't need to be better.  Therefore I imagine I'm looking at £350 max, but if value for money has improved over the last few years I would happily pay less.  By hard wired AirPay I mean that I want to connect by Homeplug and Ethernet rather than wirelessly.  iTunes on the iMac must recognise it as an AirPlay device.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, this is an excellent option:

Otherwise, this one:

I'm not aware of AirPlay working over Ethernet. I always thought that AirPlay was designed to "play through the air", I.e., wirelessly.

Apple TVs work on AirPlay on Ethernet.  It automatically switches WiFi off.  I assume it's the same with other AirPlay devices.

Speakers are Kef 3000 series.

I'll have a look at the links. Thanks.

I think the AVR-1713 might do.  It's 5.1 rather that 7.1, but that's fine for me.

By Kef 3000, do you mean this one?

If yes, going for the 2313 or 2113 will bring significant improvements over the 1713. The difference is not only about 5.1 vs 7.1. Tonally, they're better sounding. Make sure you demo before purchase.

Yes, those are they, but a have a Dali sub with them.  I will try to get a home loan before purchasing.  We are only small time movies watchers and this isn't for the HiFi room; it's for a second sitting room that doubles as a movie room with projector and screen.

Problem!  I need Component Video out and I think the cheapest Denon model with this is the AVR-2313, which is rather out of budget.

I think this is the short list, based on having component video out and AirPlay.

Sony STR-DN1030Denon AVR-2313Yamaha RX-V475Any thoughts or additions?
