Is it a viable option to use my current Denon AVCA11XVA as a power amp with the Onkyo 5509?

Can't afford to buy a power amp at the same time.

Good idea?

I think it could be made to work, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way of bypassing the Denon's preamp section. It has a multichannel input, but no actual power amplifier input.
