Onkyo 880/890.A good upgrade from my 875?

My 875 does not support 3D but I could purchase a Blu Ray player with twin HDMI outputs to get round this issue.My question is this-do the 880 or 890 actually sound any better to my 875 or would I just be making a sideways move?
