Hi forum members,

I am changing my AV amp and am wondering what would work best for my Monitor Audio PL300 surround setup.

Im only interested in 5.2 sound and not that bothered about 3D.

So in terms of sound quality and processing for 5.2. Which would be better for me?

I am worried that the Onkyo would be a tad brighter than the Pioneer LX83 I previously had? Ive also owned a Denon 4308 many years ago and was happy with the sound there. But have no experience of Onkyo.

Any help is welcomed.

Onkyo and MA go very well together although the 5009 is now a 5010. We have set up a few PL300s recently and have matched them with Anthem. An MRX300 with a good power amp may be a viable alternative if you have the space for two boxes in your rack.
