Hi

I've just purchased the Monitor Audio RX6 AV12 package and Yamaha RXA 3010. My question is about the ohms setting on the receiver. All my speakers are 6 ohms and my amp is set to 8 ohms by default. Should I set it to 6 ohms to match my speakers? Will there be any difference in quality between 6 ohm and 8 ohm?

Thanks

RE: Ohms?

Congratulations, the Yamaha RX-A3010 is a very good machine and you will have got it at around half of its original £2,000 price!

If the manual for your RX-A3010 is anything like the manual for my RX-A2010 and RX-V1067, then it will quite clearly say yes, set it to 6 ohms! Not quite sure why you are even asking?

I can only presume so, I've never experimented. I would guess that the 6-ohm setting will sound better (with 6-ohm speakers).

RE: Ohms?

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I got the amp for £900 with a 3 year warranty. The whole system sounds amazing.

Loads of settings and stuff on the amp so still learning. Thanks.
