It's all gone a bit wrong! Anyone any ideas?

My old Sherwood AV amp dies last week in a ball of flame and smoke. Before that, my setup was working smoothly. I had my Sony bluey connected straight to my TV on HDMI and audio through my amp via optical.
Now, my bluey (Sony BDP S-370) is set through my new amp (Yamaha RX-V371) and then output to my TV (LG 42LF7700). On DVD's, the playback is perfect, however on Blu-Rays it is jerky, with the picture skipping all over the place. The audio is constant, so I am guessing it has something to do with the lip-sync thingy in the HDMI setup, but after playing with the BDP, amp & TV settings I am having no joy.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks for the reply.
I finally got round to trying it, and the jerking is still happening with all variations of cableage
On the BDP, I have:
Cinema Cinversion mode (Auto/Video) - Auto
Output Video Format - HDMI/1080p
BD/DVD-ROM 1080/24p Output (Auto/Off) - Auto
Hopefully this can shed some light...
Sorry, just to clarify. Does the jerkiness happen when the player is connected directly to the tv now? If so, have you changed any settings on the player?
It was jerking when connected directly. I tried a reset to factory settings (as I had no idea where I started from!) And it was still juddering. I tried some completely new cable, and it has sorted itself out! I must have had a bad batch with both the ones I bought, which will be returned (wrapped round a brick
).
Thanks for your help, Scene. It is good to know that there are some people willing to help thick people like me (and not out rioting!)
Glad it's all sorted itself out. I've been too busy working...

Hi, and welcome to the forums!
If the picture is jerky, it's not a lipsync issue, it's a video format issue. You say it all worked perfectly when your BluRay was connected directly to your TV via HDMI - just check on the Sony that:
1. With the bluray directly connected via HDMI, everything works OK - with both HDMI cables, i.e. the one you currently use from the BDP to the amp, and the one you use from the amp to the TV. If it is - all well and good. If it works with one and not the other, then that cable has an issue. If it doesn't work with either, then check the settings on the BDP.
2. If it all works OK - if you're using "AUTO" for the output format on the BDP, try setting it to 1080P (always) and see if that cures the problem.
If the above doesn't work... will take it from there.
