After loads of research oline I think I am going to go for the new Pioneer LX85 receiver (I have 11500 - 2K to spend on a new receiver for my Tannoy Signature Revolutions) THe only thing that pulls me back towards Marantz is their 7006 3D blu Ray player which I understand is a great unit for 3D and for CD music play back.

THe only thing Pioneer have to offer is the LX53 for 3D and CD play back but at £200 I cant imagine this will have enough 'balls' to match a 2K receiver ??

I should point out that asthetics is important! I cant have a Marantz player sitting on a Pioneer receiver !!

Hi Rooster,

Pioneer will announce new Blu Ray players- hopefully with Marantz's undoubted versatility - in the near future. I agree with your 'one make' approach although my Pioneer setup is sadly too old to use their brilliant iPhone/Pad remote app and airstream capability.

You really should get a demonstration to see how the sound matches with your speakers. The new BDP's from Pioneer will be the better match for the LX85 - until they are available it is impossible to say if it is any good though.
