How do i get my subwoofer to turn on?

Just a quick question... I have a denon avc-a10se and a wharfedale active sub... I have the sub set so it turns on automatically at a certain level... But id like the level to be Lower I have the crossover knob turned right down on the back of the sub... I dont see an option on the amp set up screen? Am i missing something obvious

The crossover should be set so the sub rolls in as the main speakers are running out of steam: if your main front speakers go down to 60Hz, say, I'd set the sub crossover to 70Hz.

The automatic on/standby circuit works by detecting incoming signal from the amp, so if it's not kicking in soon enough, reduce the volume/gain control on the sub, and turn up your amp's subwoofer output level to compensate. That should give the signal from the amp enough 'oomph' to trigger the sub to come out of standby.

It sounds to me that the crossover on the back of the sub is set to low. Usually they are set to around 80Hz but thats not an absolute.
