Hi all, i'm currently looking to build up a new system for myself and i'm having some trouble picking a av receiver partly because of how dificult it is to get them in my country (Portugal).

The speakers i'm getting are the Mordaunt-Short Aviano (Aviano 2, Aviano 5, Aviano 8, Aviano 9) link

The speaker set isn't really up for a debate since i'm an absolute fan of MS, but what av to set up with them is.

So far i've been looking a lot into the Yamaha range beiing that one of my choices was the Yamaha RX-V673 but this one seems to be impossible to get. What i can get (in Portugal) is the Yamaha RX-V667 and the Yamaha RX-V1071. The price range i'm looking foward to get is between 500€ to 800€. Any suggetion that you think will work with that set of speakers is more then welcome.

Also worthy of notice, i can get stuff from the UK, so if it's available in the UK i can get it.

Thanks Smile

If you can stretch your budget a bit, I would recommend this:

http://www.sevenoakssoundandvision.co.uk/products/productdetail/Yamaha+R...

Otherwise, this would suit your needs nicely:

Theyre both available at bargain prices as newer models are imminent.

Hey just when to add some info.. i did buy the yahama Ax1010 but found the sound a bit distant.. I settled for marantz Sr6003. mananed to get second hand display from a shop. The av amp is so good dnt think i will even bother to change my system as far as it does not break down. Try out the SR6004 & see if u like the sound. If u can still get it to buy. But the SR6003 is discontinued. All the best..
