I have the very good Pioneer VSX LX55. When i play a FLAC file from the NAS its displayed on the HMG screen as a WAV and at 1411.
What do i need to change to play at the higher resolution?
Couple of questions:
1. Have you got both WAV and FLAC saved on the NAS
2. Are the Flac files ripped from CD's
I believe that 1411 is the standard for CD quality rips.

Only FLAC files on NAS ripped from CD. Also get the same playing Linn test 24bit 192k FLAC file.
I have checked your manual and there is no mention of FLAC as a playable format, my 85 manual does state FLAC as a playable option.
The manual does list FLAC. Have just checked the online one.
Files played through the pc come up as FLAC so the prob seems to be with the Pioneer.
You are correct, my search did not find it last time.
Just checked my HMG and FLAC files show up as FLAC.
