Connecting Mini Mac to Denon AVR4308A Receiver

I am having some problems connecting my New Mac Mini to a Denon 4308A receiver. I have tried all of the different hdmi connection and different hdmi leads but no joy, the loading screen comes on and then just goes blank. If i connect to direct to my Panasonic TV it works fine
The mac is using the latest operating System and i have also spoke to Denon who have said there should not be a problem with this and it should work fine
