Choice of Amp/Speakers
Hi,
As you will soon gather I am new to the home cinema scene. I currently use an old Rotel RA-820AX amp and Celestion DL8 speakers for both music and films. For films I use a PS3 for Blurays or DVD's connected to a Sony LCD TV. For music I use either a Onkyo DX 7555 CD player or ipod dock. Ideally I would like to replace the amp with a AV reciever such as the Yamaha RX-V671 to use for both music and films. I am then not sure whether I should keep the DL8's as front speakers and buy rear, centre and sub, buy a speaker package (possibly Boston Soundware XS SE) and keep the DL8's for music connected to the AV amp, or buy a better speaker package and use the front speakers only for Audio.
My main prioity is at least maintaining the music quality I currently have, and improving the film experience by having surround sound. I would appreciate any comments is this realistic/practical or would I need to spend a lot more money on an AV amp or keep a dedicated music amp and speakers.
Thanks,
