Looking for advice as to what component I should connect to my only optical input on my (old ) av amp. Either my blu-ray player, Virgin Media Tivo box, or output from my tv. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE: BEST OPTION FOR SINGLE OPTICAL INPUT

A cheap optical switch would allow you to connect all 3.

There are more expensive R/C switches available if manually switching sources doesn't appeal.

Though depending on your kit, and what I/Os they have, there maybe better options for connecting them.

Does your BDP have m/c analogue outputs (and your A/V amp have m/c analogue inputs) for example?
