Enjoy the Wars
Without doubt these forums have played an integral part of my life during the last two years, and a source of much enjoyment, general good humour and plenty of excellent advice recieved.
However, recently there have been many people who's sole purpose has not been to help of others with contstructive advice, instead offering one liners that instigate bad feeling and usually leading to the "thread locked status". I feel that I need a break for a few months so that I can enjoy listening to music and watching films.
Pistol Pete, good luck with the cable when it arrives, idc thankyou for making me chuckle in the cable debate the other day, Big chris hope you sort out your tooth soon, joel cant wait to see pictures of your new system and Chebby thanks for all of the helpful advice received on my recent purchases, hopefully we will eventually meet and have a beer or something. ![]()
On that note I wish to thank you all and bid a fond farewell, till next year at the earliest.
Troll! They are everywhere! don't take it to heart TB, most of them don't know treble from bass
as long as they can spoil someone else fun, they couldn't care less. Enjoy the break and the more importantly...music
Nice one. See you tomorrow TB.
Take care True Blue and please do come back. I find having the skin of a rhino and the ability to shut off the nonsense whilst enjoying the good to great parts helps with life on the forum.

If you think it's bad on here then you should avoid the other hifi forums. Unbelievably narrow views at times.

i think the problem is twofold, some are too sensitive and take comments to heart too much, the other bigger (i think) problem is that posters from both sides of the fence don't appreciate that what works (or doesn't) for them, won't necessarily be the case for someone else. in the case of mains cables, even hifi reviewers state that a mains cable/conditioner won't work for everyone if their mains is clean to start with, so even though they think it made a big difference with their kit, advising someone to spend money on one is likely to seem like bad advice to someone else. of course, some are just out to say i'm right and you're wrong, and that's where a thick skin comes in handy. it's just a hifi forum after all, it's not that important.
a thick skin is helpful in the real world , on a forum like this , surely its easy to ignore posts that you dont like ?? i spent nearly 2 hours reading a thread earlier about a "bluray player" and while it was funny in parts , and informative , a few people got really wound up , honestly , whats the point ??
Enjoy your breather TB. See you in a while (You've gotta pop in for Christmas though, surely!)

Mmmm, only two? what's happened to timwileman, d_a_n 1979? and a couple of others, I'm sure.
possibly just left as they had little to add it happens
how many of this months contributors whf staff excepted will still be posting in one two or three years time
i used to post heaps on diy forums when i was making furniture and stuff but never bother now since the oh discovered ikea
Whereas I'm just too bloody busy...
I dip in and out and generally avoid the trench warfare in the cable wars, great helpful place usually.
I can understand the need to dip in and out, as this is not my only or main interest, but it is a nicer place than some of the other places I've visited. Even if the moderation is sometimes a bit odd. (you are welcome to your own policy obviously, as these are your forums)
