RE: iPhone 5

Surely the main thing is that you're happy with your phone and it can do what you want it to do? Satisfaction is worth any amount of money, far more than paper-based tests which exclaim that Phone X is cheaper/quicker/more powerful/has more memory/plaits sawdust in prettier braids than Phone Y.
It's very easy in technical comparisons to lose the point...

That has hit the nail squarely on the head.  If it suits your needs and you're happy what does anything else matter?

My wife recently purchased an IvyBridge Windows 7 laptop that someone of a different persuasion slagged off because that other persons operating system works "so much faster".  Trouble is it would have to be psychic and anticipate what she wanted to do to work any faster.

Those benchmarks are obviously fake. We will see when the tech sites review the phone when its actually out.

If you don't want to sit around getting angry whilst the update server crumples under the load, I would wait until tomorrow.  There isn't anything that exciting in iOS6 anyway is there?  Im quite keen on getting away from Google maps suggested links though, nothing more infuriating than being lost in deepest darkest no where and Google decides to use your precious one bar of gprs to render a pub fifty miles away rather than the town where you parked...

If its 6pm think I might wait a couple of days, was gonna try and get it done before the rush but doing it at 6 will be asking for trouble...to do all 3 devices would probably take all night Shock

Gotta remember it's coming out of Cupertino (California), who are 8 hours behind us (it's currently 3:30am there!)

Yes, releases are generally early evening UK time, suspect this one will be the same.

RE: iPhone 5

Just out of interest - someone run the sunspider benchmark in your browser on your iphone (whichever model), and note the scores before the update and then after..

Interesting to see how much of the speed increase is software or hardware.
