iphone 4S vs ipod touch 1st gen (sound quality)

Does anyone know how the iphone 4s compares to the 1st generation ipod touch for music?
I hear some reports that it does not sound as good due to a dac change. Is there any truth to this? It is hard to find a way to test this in the shop as the music

I've not heard either, but the older Apple I things used Wolfson Dacs and the newer ones use Cirrus Logic. I've had the original iPhone, the 3G and the 4. The 1 and the 3G had Wolfson, the 4 a Cirrus. I noticed no difference tbh...
