How good or bad are the DACs in the iPhone/pad?
I have options. As I am in basic student digs for 6 months at least.
Current tunes will be out of apple docs to some jbl control 2.4 s or when I get the network sorted from thesqueezebox.
So what to do buy a dock like the Zeplin or th Viso or....... By some stand mounts that will become art of the AV surround system.
And use them with the nad 372 amp?
Current main speakers are BW 703s so surrounds would be from the 600 series .
Thoughts dock or speakers?
just an update as it has been fun.
went and had a listen to a few docs and well the NAD Viso was disapointing. the B&W Zeplin was great but the Beosound 8 seemed better.
Went home and had a good think. I do not need a Dock.
timeo get the old 3130 out and get some new speakers.
B&W 685 were listened to today.

I agree regarding BeoSound 8. It sounds brilliant, certainly better than the Zeppelin. Is the high price justified though? 
I think the main purpose of docks is convenience. A good separates system will outperform them.
the Beosound was in a league above the others. but it also got me thinking about what i want to listen to while in these digs.
and it will not be coming from the iProducts. they will be used for controlling things but.
I also need to look to where i want to be and that is a single system for both HiFi and AV with the B&W 703s as my front speakers.
some 685 as the surrounds and rears and a suitable Centre from the CM range.
need to find a suitable AV processor WITHOUT radio and a few more power amps.
Oh well forget that. The AC pump on the car has gone.
Net work is sorted and the touch is rocking away as normal.
And my kitchen speakers are not that bad.
Not a HiFi Nut. Just has a pile of Nads.
