bit lost on whats allowed and is not allowed?
i have a 3gs(16gb) iphone and have had it for 25months on o2. I will getting a 8gb white iphone4 for £25 a month and i will giving the mrs one of then.
- problem her sim is t-mobile i want to unluck the phone so it accepts the new sim. but dont fancy these dodgy jailbreaking antics that are on youtube is there a differance or have i got to do it
do i ask o2 which the phone is on or t-mobile that i want it to be. sorry if thats a silly question and how much should i pay £20 for example
you ask your current service supplier to unlock the phone.
the cost will be what ever they charge sorry no idea.
02 will unlock an iPhone for free, (or at least they did)
Usually, after 12 months of owning the contract phone, the service provider gives the unlock code for free.
thanks ill give o2 a phone many thanks guys
I can confirm the above, if it is on contract, 02 will unlock for free after 12 months. If it is PAYG, 02 will unlock it for a fee of £15. I did this with my 3g a while ago on PAYG - had to wait a couple of weeks but it was quite painless in the end (and it worked!)

your service provider will do it for you at a cost.
