Best iphone for sound quality and AKG K550 headphones

Ok, if I have this right is it fair to say overall the iPhone 4s is the best iPhone for sound quality from numerous reviews and testing, and its powerful enough to drive a set of AKG K550's without a headphone amp inbetween as the AKG's are low impedence and are a good reference headphone for on the move as their closed back but sound similar to open back headphones?

I have both the phone and the headphones. The headphones are not hard to drive at all. The iphone drives them with ease so you won't have a problem. You might have a problem with the looks you'll get if you wear the headphones in the street. To be honest they are not small and come with a long cable.
