As the title suggests, I am looking for a way to remotely control XBMC running on my Linux HTPC.

My partner has an iPad 2 and it would be nice to have a working solution to avoid having the TV on, other than using my netbook to control the system.

Any viable suggestions?

RE: XBMC remote for Linux ?

There's an iPod / iPhone app for this for a few quid so I guess there's an iPad version?

Failing that you can control it through a web browser. Just go to Settings / Network and check the box for 'Allow control of XBMC via HTTP'. Set a simple username and password.

Then on a browser connected to your network simply access it via its IP address e.g. http://192.168.1.109

Good luck!

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go.

I currently use my netbook via remote access in Linux. It works, but is slow.
