Streaming from PC to receiver by using iPad

My questionis about streaming music from my pc to a receiver. I have a HP notebook running Windows 7, on which I have stored all my music. The computer is connected to my network router by wire. On the same router there is also my Marantz SR5006 (Airplay compatible) AV receiver connected. Can I, using an iPad, control my receiver and play music stored on my notebook? Does my computer have to have iTunes installed?
Apple has a remote control for their iDevices, just search "Remote" in the app store. However, as far as I know it only controls iTunes. The Remote wont control the receiver as such but you can control volume of the pc
If you have music on your iPad you can stream it from there to any Airplay enabled device. You need to turn on Airplay in the Music app and select the desired airplay device.
